Welcome! My name is Amelia Coleman. I am currently an architecture student at the University of North Carolina Charlotte. I transferred from the University of North Carolina Wilmington, where I was a chemistry research assistant and student, to the University of North Carolina Charlotte to follow my desire to become an architect. I value creativity and am constantly working to improve my art skills. My favorite mediums include graphite and charcoal and I enjoy studies of the human figure. With my artistic skills and the instruction of the capable professors in the architecture department, I will master design, drawing, and computer skills required for a career as an architect in a creative and innovative manner.
At the University of North Carolina Charlotte, I am currently a research assistant for Facilities Management of the university, a teacher's assistant for Environmental Ethics in Architecture, and am conducting an independent study in architectural daylighting and occupant well being. For facilities management, I am aiding in the research for the rewriting of the UNCC Building Manual. The independent study is being conducted in collaboration with Professor Dale Brentrup and is to create an evaluation method that assesses the luminance, comfort levels, and productivity of a space as it directly relates to circadian rhythm and human health. |
